Summary report for participation in third party event for the INNOGROW project

INNOGROW EU FLAG 1Venelin Dobrev from the team of SZREDA, Bulgaria took part in the group discussion for the third party event „UK Industrial Strategy: Progressing Rural Contributions. Hosted by Rural Enterprise UK" which was organized in Urban Science Building, Newcastle University on the 27th of March (Wednesday). The event began with opening ceremony and presentations of the different aspects of the Industrial Strategy of the UK. After the first two sessions the speakers and participants participated in networking part with discussion.

Venelin Dobrev participated on behalf of SZREDA as project partner in the INNOGROW project. During the Q&A session he suggested one measure that will be included in the action plan of SZREDA and could be useful to the one of the issues that the Industrial Strategy of UK addresses. In the sessions in the afternoon there was quite an useful presentation "Drivers of rural business productivity – evidence and reflections" which was given by professor Matthew Gorton, Rural Enterprise UK, Newcastle University. He is part of the project team for the INNOGROW project from the side of Newcastle University.

After the presentations there were 3 thematic working groups. Venelin took part in the working group "Grand challenges and sector collaborations" and shared some experience from Bulgaria that could be useful for the participants in the discussion.
